This won’t be relevant to every kind of virtual event, but if you’re doing a talk or leading a workshop where attendees are encouraged to think about and respond to your points, you can increase engagement by utilising breakout rooms. At an in-person event you would encourage your audience to speak to each other, but putting them into breakout rooms with a discussion point can be a great way to keep everyone focused and ensure that your talk is productive and useful for everyone attending.
