Inclusion & Accessibility

IBTM World is home to the Business Events industry and we are serious about ensuring everyone feels welcomed.

IBTM World is committed to assisting those who have specific requirements. For access requirements at the Venue, please contact our dedicated customer service team

Fira Gran Via is totally accessible using wheelchairs, power wheelchairs or scooters.

At IBTM this year, you’ll find the following facilities to support your event experience:

ReFuel Lounge

Events can be busy places, and busy places aren’t for everyone. If you want to be part of the fun, but find safety in a place of solace, visit the IBTM Refuel Lounge (booth A15) where you can get away from the crowds and take a moment. The IBTM Reset Rooms are located at booth A15 on the exhibition floor.

Quiet Room

We also have the Quiet Room, which is another safe space away from the crowds. This room is unmanned and is located off the show floor in Room E33, along the main walkway towards Hall 3.

First Aid

Our First Aid office is located on the exhibition floor, behind stand K100.

If you, or someone you’re with, requires emergency medical assistance whilst at IBTM, please visit the First Aid Office or don’t hesitate to alert a staff member in the Organiser’s Office (located in the Europa Suites), who’ll be able to get you the help you need. Remember, you’re not in this alone!

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme

IBTM recognises the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme and will support anyone coming to IBTM living with non-visible disabilities. Some disabilities, conditions or chronic illnesses are not immediately obvious to others. Simply by wearing the sunflower lanyard, visitors are letting everyone know that they might need extra help, understanding, or just more time.

A limited amount of Sunflower lanyards will be available at the information desks in the boulevard, as well as in the IBTM Reset Rooms.

Mobility Services

Working with a robust international venue, such as FIRA Barcelona, means IBTM provides a broad range of services for those with mobility needs. Wheelchairs will be available for use at the Hall 4 entrance, and Registration area of the South Entrance. Lift control panels are adapted to the height of wheelchair users, and every area can be accessed by lifts including all conference centres and the Metro Connection. All corridors have a clear width of a minimum 1200mm. Stairs are fitted with handrails to ensure the safety of users.

Multi Faith Prayer Room

We understand the importance of prayer and want to provide a quiet space without disruption to your daily activities. The Multi Faith Prayer Room can be accessed via the main walkway past Hall 3, in room E2.

Accessible Toilets and Changing Facilities

All toilers in the venue have at least one cubicle adapted for wheelchair use, with a minimum width of 1200mm, grab rails and low sinks.

The family room can be found before Hall 3 along the walkway in room E3, which offers a comfortable private area for expressing breast milk and use of a fridge to store milk.

Stages

IBTM Conference Theatres will have links to a free translation app through your mobile device (headphones required), closed captioning on dedicated screens, and ramp access to the Main Stage for speakers. Seating is also laid out for wheelchair access and there will be a dedicated area for wheelchairs.

Service Animals

IBTM welcome all guide and assistance dogs. Guide dog and assistance dog owners have important rights under the Equality Act 2010 meaning assistance dogs are entitled to enter establishments where the general public are admitted. No other dogs or pets are permitted in the venue.

Accessible Car Parking & Public Transport

All official venue car parks have disabled reserved spaces. Access from public transport (Metro and FGC) is connected using lifts with automatic doors.

Barcelona, an Accessible City

Public transport is adapted to people with disabilities, and it is easy to book an adapted taxi.

Museums are adapted for the blind and partially sighted, hotels without barriers, accessible beaches and sign-language tours. Whether you’re a visitor or looking for accessible ways to discover the city, we invite you to navigate Barcelona's wide choice of suggestions.
