Created in homage to the legendary flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya, the Tablao de Carmen offers from 1988 a flamenco show in the purest tradition. A venue that allows you to see the show up close while enjoying drinks or dinner. Carmen Amya made her debut in 1929 for the King of Spain, Alfonso XIII, in the very same space which is now Tablao de Carmen. Both the location and the venue itself are a great additions to the flamenco show. It's located within the Poble Espanyol, one of Barcelona's most important landmarks, built as the Spanish pavillon for the 1929 World Exhibition. The Tablao de Carmen features a mix of established and up and coming performers in the Spanish flamenco scene. Two nightly performances last approximately one hour, covering a variety of flamenco styles while individually focusing on the traditional elements of a flamenco performance. It benefits from a strong reputation within the flamenco world, gained by promoting the wide and rich community of the flamenco scene of Barcelona.
