Ever more widespread regulations create a challenge but also offer a catalyst for positive change. Direct sponsorship of doctors is allowed by the pharmaceutical sector, whereas it is being banned by MedTech. Meeting meetings need to be vetted for eligibility before receiving industry support. As the medical meetings industry becomes more regulated, educational providers are faced with adapting their work processes and even their business models. The whole sector is in the midst of a transformation, with a broad range of stakeholders (including attendees, sponsors, organisers and venues) being directly affected.
